Microcontroller battles ARM in auto safety

The microcontroller is something very common in our lives, in fact without them… we would not really have all the greatest things that we have nowadays, such as cell phones, calculators… As we can see, all the companies are looking foward for the making of the newest microcontroller ever.
In this case we have Infineon “has launched a new version of its popular C166 microcontroller”. For those who have worked or know about microcontroller, are sure that this new product is very awesone, for all the characteristics that it has "The safety segment is the strongest growing automotive application area with about 10 % growth for the next five years," he said. "Infineon's combined in-house offering of microcontroller core, sensor and power semiconductors together with our broad system know-how for safety applications make us unique among automotive chip suppliers."
There are a lot of companies, that make this incredible small machines such as Toshiba. “The automotive controller market is deploying increasingly complex applications on microcontrollers while demanding increased safety certification and improved code reuse,” said Yutaka Murao, Senior Fellow in the System LSI Division at Toshiba.
